Purchase a 'HannoverCard' for unlimited travel and discounts on attractions. For the 7-day itinerary, a 3-day card (for days 2, 5, and selective use) plus walking is most cost-effective. Taxis and ride-shares are also readily available.
Book Ahead
Accommodation should be booked ahead, during trade fairs (CeBIT, Hannover Messe). Book tickets online for the Hanover Adventure Zoo. Reserve seats for any special evening events at Herrenhausen Gardens (summer concerts/fireworks).
Packing Essentials
Comfortable walking shoes, a reusable water bottle, a light rain jacket or umbrella, a power adapter (Type F), a daypack for museum visits, and a smartphone for navigating the excellent local transport app (GVH).
Total Budget
Approximately $560-840 for activities, food, and local transport for one person over 7 days (excluding flights and accommodation).
